Stitches West Buzz

We're all a-buzz here with Stitches West excitement. Are you going? I'll be there for sure, hanging out at the Marketplace when I'm not in class.

Here are a few things that you might find helpful/interesting--

If you're not taking a class but will be coming to shop, here's a $2 off coupon for admission to the Marketplace.

And if you're going to shop, you'll want this PDF map of the Marketplace that Erin put together. It has booth numbers and the names of the vendors.

Thanks to Benjamin Levisay and the Stitches West vendors there's a big change in Marketplace policy: Photography and videography will be allowed with permission. Ask vendors' permission before taking pictures or shooting video of booth/merchandise. Look for "No Photography or Videography" signs that vendors might have in their booths and honor their wishes. You can read the conversation that helped contribute to the policy change here.

Team Ravelry, Jess, Casey, Sarah, and Mary-Heather, will be returning to Stitches West this year. Their posted schedule is:

  • Happy Hour
    Thursday 8:00 - 9:30 pm
    Santa Clara Convention Center
    Ballrooms C, D, E, and F
All are welcome - you do not need a ticket to the Market Preview.
Cash bar, music, lots of hello buttons, and best of all, lots of friendly faces to meet and hang out with.

  • Daily Meet-ups
    Santa Clara Convention Center
    Marketplace concessions area
    Friday 1:00 - 2:00 pm
    Saturday 1:00 - 2:00 pm
    Sunday 10:00 - 11:00 am

As always, there are book signings, special appearances, and other planned events. You can view the entire showbook on Flickr.

Make note of page 27--Marion Foale's pattern "Ali's Cap" will be for sale in Booth 732 and Ali MacGraw will be signing the pattern on Sunday from 10:00 - 3:00 pm. The proceeds will go towards the Wildlife Emergency Response Fund.

One more thing, if you're on twitter, consider using one of these hashtags--surely we can get one or more to trend in the next week, right?
