In the garden

I threw some arugula seeds into the raised bed at the end of April. When I saw the seedlings a week later, I was worried that I was too heavy-handed with the seeds.

Too much arugula?

But now I'm happy with the arugula patch. We have enough growing so we can pick some for every salad we make.

The Fuji apples are getting some color. The squirrels should go after them soon.

Finally, the bunching onions that we planted last year are still going strong. When I picked onions for cooking, I divided a bunch and planted the youngest onions back in the bed. I've let a few of them flower in hopes of collecting seeds.

  • I suggest adding some Manchego cheese to that arugula and Fuji apple for a delicious salad.

  • Thanks for the suggestion. We're enjoying Manchego with the arugula now, but I'm pretty sure that the only apples we'll eat will have to come from the market.
