I wanted to like this movie. It started out well--visually and audibly impressive. Unfortunately I wasn't able to suspend disbelief enough to really enjoy the full 136 minutes (sheesh!), and the subplots were distracting. Also, given what's in the news these days, I wasn't in the mood for repeated mentioning of beheadings and infidels. But it's an okay movie, and I really liked the title character--he was my favorite.

I saw it in the theatres and really enjoyed it, but I saw it with my 12-year-old guy, and I'm a HUGE sucker for animal - horse in particular - movies. Plus, it was before most of the news stories we're hearing, so I think that would have bothered me, too...
I just see all those beautiful animals and cry...
