Autumn Grace Stole pattern information
The Autumn Grace Stole was the winning design in the 2006 Cherry Tree Hill Sugar Maple Design contest. The pattern may be purchased from retailers that carry Cherry Tree Hill patterns--ask for pattern CTH-191.
The stole began as an experiment in lace for me, a first time designer. Nature was the initial theme, which lead to leaf lace as the primary pattern of choice. A border and center motif were paired with the leaves, transforming the nature theme into an elegant garden.
The initial design was knit for my sister, the namesake for this pattern. That prototype had its challenges with alignment of patterns, stitch count, and seed stitch grafting. Knitting the Autumn Grace Stole gave me the opportunity to conquer these challenges.
