Greener
On Friday a Fronius was installed in our garage. It's one serious looking piece of equipment.

Fronius IG inverter
The installers returned today in a Biodiesel vehicle full of boxes.

The goods
Who are these guys you ask?

Solar City
The boxes were unpacked.

Oh yeah baby.

BP Solar SX3200B
The tracks were attached to the roof,

then the modules were secured to the tracks.

And just like that, we're ready to start generating electricity.

The array at sunset
It's a beautiful thing.

Finally! That is awesome. We at least have solar hot water here. We do have the dreaded a/c's though- and I suspect we may even need to use them come Summer :)

Nice! Can't wait until we have the chance to put in solar panels. Raising my needles in honor of using renewable energy!

Woot! Congrats! They look so happy up there on the roof at sunset. Although, it seems it'd be a slight bummer to have them all done and installed just as the sun was leaving for the day. Too bad they can't come and install them just before dawn, eh?
I wish there was some incentive to get apartment buildings to use solar energy... if just for the ground lighting and swimming pool, etc.

Wow, that's awesome. We want to do the same thing, we just have to get the rest of our co-owners to agree! Did you get any help from PG & E?

That's awesome! I look forward to hearing how it goes.

That is really cool. So how does it work out? What percentage of your electricity needs can you get out of the panel?

Awesome! We have a very similar looking Fronius in our garage, and we've been generating 30% more than the estimate for January.

Excellent timing too, as I think it's supposed to be sunny for the rest of the week! None of this one day of sun, then back to overcast/rain business.
(Which means I probably just jinxed it. Crap. I apologize in advance...)

Did you get on the roof or hand your camera to someone already on the roof? Because I think this is the first "I got on the roof for this blog" shot I've seen.

Yeah, I'm with Freecia -- if you went on the roof for your blog, you deserve some sort of blogmedal!

I'm also a knitter. That's how I found you, but I have to say, VERY jealous of your solar setup! That exactly what hubby and I want to do!
