Round 2 results for swatching/washing of Valley Yarns 2/8 Merino Wool/Cashmere Blend, swatched double stranded in moss stitch:
Needle Size US#8
After 2nd washing: 18st/4in, 7.5rows/in
Needle Size US#7

What about the possibility of washing the whole batch of yarn before you work with it? The way you would wash finished hand-spun yarn to set the twist: Hank it, make butterfly ties, gentle handwash (soaking, no aggitation) in cool water, press water out thru a collander and lay them out on a towel to dry. That might take the sizing out and give you a better idea of the garment size during knitting.
I am looking forward to seeing the cashmere!

I've thought about that. In fact, Natalie (http://knitting.xaviermusketeer.com/) is going to wash the yarn before knitting, so I'll see how that goes for her. I'm not sure that soaking is going to do it.
