Stop me before I buy more
I'm pretty sure those were my exact words to Emy as I was finishing my third lap of Commuknity.
All I needed was a 3.25mm circular needle. That's all I needed. Uh huh.
But it was my first visit to Commuknity and I had to look around. And what sort of inaugural visit would it be if I didn't buy sock yarn? (I see some of you nodding out there.)
So as Emy was giving me the tour, she subtly pointed out the lovely sock yarn. Subtle like Carol Merril in front of curtain #3. I noticed the Trekking XXL and we talked about how large the skein was. Not quite large enough for a pair of SO's socks, but she commented that if I bought 2 skeins, I'd have enough for a pair of SO socks and a pair for me. Way to upsell girl! (Like she really had to twist my arm.)
So I got the AddiTurbo needle I needed, 2 skeins of Trekking XXL and Barbara Walker's A Second Treasury of Knitting Patterns.
Oh, and my helpful sales associate gave me a card good for 10% off yarn if I come back next week. *sigh*

I'm so glad you were able to come by yesterday. Now you know (I hope) why I love the shop so much...it just has good energy. Mmm...happy yarn shop. :)

Hehehe! I go to school in the opposite direction on Alameda at SCU and must remind myself (whack myself over the head more like it) NOT to "Pop in for a quick visit" because more likely than not, I'd do the same thing.
You know what Stephanie said about sock yarn. It just tides you over. It doesn't count as real stash.

So... what time next week? It's only 10 minutes from my office!
