Netflix Class Action Settlement

I'm tempted to say that Netflix is busted, but they're still not admitting any wrong doing. Oh what the heck?

BUSTED!

The benefit, if approved by the court, is a free upgrade for one month. So if you're on a 3DVD plan, you'll be upgraded to the 4DVD plan for one month.

But if they continue to their slowdown practices, I'm not seeing it as much of a benefit. A free month at my current plan? Now that would have been a benefit.

Secondly, if you don't explicitly revert back to your previous plan, you'll be charged for that upgraded plan after the free month is over. Sounds to me like it's more of a benefit for Netflix than the subscribers.

If you're a current or former subscriber, you should read the information about the Netflix Class Action Settlement to see if you're entitled to a claim. If you are and you do nothing, you'll not receive a benefit but you'll remain a Class Member. You therefore waive your right to bring a separate lawsuit against Netflix concerning the Released Claims.

  • wow, that settlement sounds like a complete lose for the subscribers. You get 4 movies for a month (big deal) and Netflix gets a greater than 50% chance that you will forget to to cancel your upgrade. ?%$#@ Thanks for letting us know about it!
