2007-04: Two-End (Twined) Half Mitts

Yarn: BFL Homespun, Color = Oatmeal, 5 oz/142 gm; Cascade 220 for cast-on contrast color
Needles: 4 mm DPNs
Pattern: Modified pattern from Beth Brown-Reinsel's Twined Knitted Mittens class

My first FO using homespun yarn. Wow.

Two-end knitting produces a dense fabric anyway, but when the yarn is overspun and thick and thin... it means these babies are impenetrable. The BFL makes them soft and cozy. Too bad it's unseasonably warm. No worries, these'll last forever.

I liked the fiber so much, I bought another 1/2 lb.

  • Nice! Your first completed project with your own handspun, big congratulations! Was it only 10 weeks from picking up a spindle to FO? Once again, you are amazing. Can't wait to see these in person.
